Intimacy Choreography

“Everyone deserves to be creating art in a safe space”

Observing the all too common lack of emphasis on consent and the continued perpetuation of gendered perspectives in the theatre community, Marie was deeply inspired to embark on the journey of learning about intimacy direction. They strongly believe that the industry is in dire need of more individuals in this field, particularly those who can approach it from a non-gendered, non-white standpoint.

With experience from both an actor’s and director’s perspective, they know firsthand how important this role is in a process.  Intimacy directors not only advocate for the actors, who often have less power in the room, but also help out directors and creatives by sharing ideas and solutions specific to choreographing intimacy.
